Why we started Pro Defence.
Pro Defence began with a shared realisation:
Complex defence projects require more than additional capacity. They require people who understand the domain they are entering and who can put their experience to work from the outset. When demands are high and technology, organisation and operational reality need to work together, the right specialist is more than just a resource. They can become a driving force in the project. That was the need we created Pro Defence to address.
Two backgrounds. One shared idea.
The idea for Pro Defence took shape in conversations between Anders Jepsen and Henning Riber. Over 14 years in the Danish Armed Forces, Anders worked closely with complex communications systems, IT, systems integration and the people who use the technology in practice. He has seen how crucial it is that the people entrusted with responsibility in a project understand both the technical task and its operational significance.
Henning brought experience from building consulting businesses and creating strong professional environments where talented people thrive, take responsibility and raise the bar together. Finding the right specialist is not enough. There also needs to be a company and a professional community that specialists want to be part of, and that gives them the right conditions to do their best work. Together, we saw the opportunity to build a specialised consultancy that understands the needs of the defence industry and knows what it takes to find and put the right people to work.
The experience is there. But it needs to be put to work.
Across the Danish Armed Forces and the defence industry, there are people with specialised experience, technical expertise and valuable domain knowledge. At the same time, companies need stronger resources for projects with a high level of complexity, where it takes more than a strong profile on paper to contribute from the outset. The need and the experience already exist. The challenge is creating the right connection between them.
We did not start Pro Defence because we believed that more consultants alone would solve the problem. We started the company because the right specialist can make a decisive difference to a complex assignment. That is why our work begins with understanding the need, the context and the responsibility the specialist is stepping into. Only then do we find the right person. We do not believe in volume-based recruitment. We believe in precise matches based on expertise, experience and genuine domain understanding.
